Music has been a major factor in my life since January 22nd, 1966. From there, at age two, picking out by ear “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” by CCR on an old piano in Stinnett TX, music has crossed just about every path I’ve ever taken. A series of piano lessons at age six got my feet wet in reading music, and ended up being the building block that allowed me to ultimately expand into all kinds of musical endeavors. In the 6th grade, I picked up the clarinet and was officially “in the band”! Junior High and High School brought me six more years of countless yearly performances, both in Orchestra and Jazz Band, as well as marching on the field as a Valley Viking! Currently, I've enjoyed working professionally both as a singer and instrumentalist; from playing in a Reno classic rock band to covering Dan Fogelberg nationally. But it's been my ongoing work with Green Weather, a Truckee folk duo, which has enabled me to embark on my greatest musical journey, which has led me to believe, that our truest connection is to project what is most pleasing to the ear. Jody studied with Julliard jazz pianist, Joanna Grauer, for 12 years. He has also played professionally with blues guitar legend, Mighty Mike Schermer. Locally, Jody plays in downtown Truckee on weekends. He loves New Orleans Jazz Piano, and has recorded his original music in Nashville as a member of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI).

Debby Wiens comes to us from Oklahoma where she studied at the University of Oklahoma School of Music. Moving to Tahoe in 1988, she founded Allegro School of Music. Debby graduated from Sierra Nevada College with a BA in  music, emphasis in piano as well as a K-8 teaching credential. Debby later specialized in Early Childhood Music Education and taught Kindermusik for 20 yrs. She directed children's choirs and hand bell ensembles for 10 years and was the accompanist for The Village Church in Incline Village for 32 yrs. Debby rang hand bells professionally for 15 yrs. and has performed with the Reno Philharmonic and internationally. Her mission is to bring joy and a love of music to all students.

Grace has been a musician ever since she sat down at the piano at age 5 and never looked back. From Redding, CA, Grace has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Simpson University and holds a music teacher credential in California and Texas. Before moving to Truckee, she taught Band for eight years in West Sacramento. Ensembles under her direction have earned superior ratings at music festivals and took first place in band competitions and parades. Several of her students earned spots in the Capitol Section Honor Band, NorCal Honor Band and All-State Honor Band. Grace’s mission is to share her love of music and to inspire her students to become lifelong musicians. 

I'm a professional musician who loves to teach and enjoys seeing the evolution of my students, all the way from beginners to advanced. Having graduated from UNR with a "Jazz and Improvisational Musics" degree (University of Nevada, Reno), I now work as a guitarist in the Reno Jazz Orchestra and occasionally the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as several other musical projects that cover a wide range o genres (Funk, Reggae, Blues, Rock, Latin, Jazz). Among other things I teach guitar (classic and electric), traverse flute (all kinds of music, from classical to rock and jazz), piano or keyboards (mainly jazz), music theory (understand music as a language; read and write music), harmony lessons (harmonizing an existing melody), and music composition (song writing and music arrangements).

Beginning with his earliest gigs in high school, Reno-Tahoe area native and multi-instrumentalist John Bennum has remained in demand for his versatility as a freelance musician, composer/arranger, recording engineer, and music instructor. A graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno's Applied Jazz program, John previously attended Northwestern University, where he studied classical performance with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He has been a member of the Reno Jazz Orchestra's trombone section since 2016, has performed, toured, and recorded with groups across a wide variety of styles, and has shared the stage with many nationally recognized artists.
