"My child started at the Tahoe Truckee School of Music when he was in elementary school. He always loved going to his classes and connecting with his teacher for whom were really in tune with him. Fast forward to today and I get to hear my teenager picking up his guitar almost daily and playing. It sits right next to his bedside. He still loves playing his oldies but goodies that the he learned at the school and regularly challenges himself with new songs and chords as well.  I think the best gift is that he uses it to relax when stressed or tired. It totally resets him. I am certain that if it wasn't for the love and foundation that the Tahoe Truckee School of Music laid for him, he would not have this lifelong skill to center him."

In the snowy mountain town of Truckee, not all of us are interested in being super athletes or shredding mountain snow. The Tahoe school of music offered my son an opportunity unlike any other; the gift of music. Sam Ravenna patiently took 8 year old Mikah under his wing and gave him the gift of learning to play the drums. Allowing Mikah to find his instrument of choice, Sam facilitated a band and regular gigs that allowed Mikah to blossom and thrive in public. The confidence and discipline built through this process are immeasurable. Mikah now has a skill that continues to build his confidence and help him grow as an individual while also understanding how to work with others. This lifelong gift is something only the team at Tahoe School of Music understood and the nurturing environment there was an education far surpassed any other Mikah had received.
