Dr. Heidi Kuzma

Dr. Heidi isn't a real doctor. She has a PhD in science. She knows wave mechanics and the theory of music inside out. Don't get her started or she'll tell you all about resonant frequencies, consonance and dissonance, and why the Bach chorales are a miracle, If you're still listening, she'll pull out her pocket spectrum analyzer.

But her true love is the piano: big pianos, small pianos, grand pianos, electric pianos, acoustic old fashioned saloon pianos and all the classical, stride, ragtime, boogie woogie, crazy, happy, Hollywood, silent movie and jazz music that comes out of pianos. The thing is, she didn't discover that she could actually play one herself until middle age. She stumbled into the Tahoe Truckee School of Music four years ago, obsessed with pianos, and now she's semi-professional, playing solo around town and as the better part of a racous two-handed duet with Jody Sweet who is her instructor.
