Christian Nicely
Christian was born and raised in Truckee, and began playing guitar at the age of five. He was hooked, and quickly learned to play the songs of his blues heroes including John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford, and others. Since then, his music listening and playing has spanned many other styles including jazz, funk, folk, bluegrass, hip hop, R&B, and many other styles. Christian began producing and writing songs in high school, and has built up a considerable library of original music over the years. He has been very fortunate to have played guitar at many memorable gigs all over the country. He was a member of the 2019 California All-State Jazz Band, the School for Improvisational Music in Brooklyn, and has shared the stage with local jazz icons.
Christian now lives in Reno and is working on his Bachelor's in Jazz Performance for guitar. Other than making music, his interests include swimming in lakes, hiking, and skiing. His teaching specialties range from blues, jazz, funk, and bluegrass styles, as well as songwriting and production.
