Hugo - teaching assistant

Autumn Burnett

Autumn was born and raised in the North Lake Tahoe area. She has been studying a variety of instruments since the age of six, and she holds a degree in Musical Studies from Oberlin College. After college, Autumn moved to Asheville, NC where she started her own teaching studio while playing viola with the Brevard Philharmonic and performing solo gigs as a singer/songwriter. Now that she has returned home to Tahoe, she works full-time as a music instructor, performer, and administrator for TTSM.

Autumn’s lessons combine curriculum teaching with a student-driven approach– ensuring that her students have both the technical and creative skills to make music they are passionate about. She is open to a variety of styles and genres, but her favorite things to teach are; beginning classical guitar, classical viola and violin, fiddle tunes, songwriting, and music theory.

Autumn is joined by her teaching assistant, Hugo, an Anatolian/Mastiff mix who is a professional goodboy and mood lightener.

When she is not playing or teaching music, Autumn’s other interests include strength training, triathlon sports, reading, and adventuring around Tahoe with Hugo.
