Alice Osborn
Alice Osborn is a singer-songwriter, poet, and educator, who grew up in the Washington, D.C. area where in elementary school her music teacher introduced her to the magic of folk, classical, country, spirituals, pop, and rock n' roll, and soon changed her life by incorporating history and stories, the makings of folk tradition. Alice is influenced by pop music, as well as traditional tunes from bluegrass, Celtic/Scottish, and old time.
She teaches violin/fiddle, as well as guitar, banjo, ukulele, and mandolin.
Educated at both Virginia Tech and North Carolina State, Alice has published four books of poetry, three albums: most recently Skirts in the Snow: Beyond the Tragedy of the Donner Party.
Alice is currently working on her next album about love and loss against the backdrop of the Sierra Nevada Mountains' climate concerns.
