The Monsters is a student rock band that was created at the Tahoe Truckee School of Music and is directed by TTSM Instructor Sam Ravenna.

In 2017 they performed at Beatles Night in Truckee to an audience of 200, and the performance was broadcast live on Tahoe Truckee Community Television. The group also appeared on the cover of Moonshine Ink.

“I live in Truckee, in the mountains near Lake Tahoe, CA. I’m inspired by my surroundings and believe that the peace and serenity around us comes out in my songs. I’ve been fortunate to work with exceptional singing coaches at the Tahoe Truckee School of Music, which has given me opportunities to perform and to record in a professional studio. Crystal has given me some phenomenal coaching on how to use my voice. It’s so rewarding to take my songs, which I write on the piano or ukulele, then bring them to life as we add beats, backing vocals, and other instruments. We are careful not to overproduce the songs. It’s important to me to have a pure vocal, and I’m not a big fan of songs that rely heavily on auto-tune."
